Everybody knows that Brazil is a country that has some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. But a very few people are exploring the Chapadas. Chapadas are flat areas in regions of mountains with elevations generally above 600 meters. In Brazil, they are found in the North, Northeast and Midwest.

The Chapada Diamantina National Park – Bahia
It is one of the best known in the country and reference for those searching for adventure tourism. Diamantina refers to the diamonds found there in the mid-19th century. With over 36 amazing caves, Chapada Diamantina is on the top of this list as one of the most beautiful Chapadas.
Chapada dos Guimarães National Park – Mato Grosso
The National Park of Chapada dos Guimarães is 70 km from Cuiabá, capital of Mato Grosso. The most famous tour inside the park is the Véu da Noiva waterfall, that means “Bridal Veil”. The Chapada dos Guimarães edge is visible in this satellite photo.
Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park – Goiás
It is considered the oldest one of the three mentioned here, the ancient plateau has an estimated age of 1.8 billion years. The most impressive tour is the Vale da Lua (Valley of the Moon), rocks that were shaped by the rapids of clear water, considered one of the most impressive view of this Chapada.
